Three years ago, in 2023, we set out to improve accessibility to high quality activewear for even more women by launching sizes 2XL-4XL - it was such a long time coming, and over those 3 years, we have worked so hard with our all-female design team to ensure we have a far-ranging capsule of flattering, versatile TALA pieces in those sizes.

In spite of all of this work, and investing huge amounts into marketing this across all our platforms, sizes 2XL-4XL still only represented 2% of our sales last year. We were faced with a problem. Our ideal was obviously to make every piece in every size, but doing so ended up being a huge risk to our business both financially and for our zero-to-landfill policy. You know we take our ethics very seriously, and we are keenly aware of our responsibility for the waste we create. The unavoidable truth is that not selling products at the rate we plan creates waste, and it falls on us to shift our strategy to avoid this.

So, for now, we will prioritise stocking our core styles and colours in our full size range - you’ll still find plenty of options - and we will continue working on ways to increase this representation across the range as we go. Read on for more details.
