It’s been 2 years since TALA was born and like they say, time really does fly when you’re having fun! From the conceptualisation of TALA, to our very first campaign, to where we are today, we have worked tirelessly towards our mission of making sustainable activewear and loungewear pieces accessible to everyone. We are driven by the change we want (and need) to see within the industry - making sustainable style the norm without the need to compromise on the high performance designs and flattering fits we all love.
Whether you started our journey with us back in May 2019 and became a founding member of #TEAMTALA, or have joined us along the way, we’re so happy to have you on board! In this very special edit of TALA Talks, we’re taking a short trip down memory lane to highlight some key moments of our journey so far whilst also giving you a sneak peek of what you have to look forward to!
Back to basics with Core
TALA began with the launch of our very first activewear collection, Core, a selection of supportive, flattering fits sustainably made to help you get the best out of your workout. TALA Creative Content Lead, Ally, directed our first every campaign shoot. “Our first core campaign was everything that TALA embodies and more, from the models to the minimalistic set up, we wanted everyone on set to feel good and have fun. Who knew that two years on we’d have grown so much!”
Core has continued to evolve over the last 2 years, with the introduction of new styles, colours and sizes. Since launch in May 2019, by making the choice to shop Core rather than non-sustainable alternatives, you have helped us save over 6.6 million litres of water and over 380,00 kg of co2 - we love it, you love it and it’s still one of our best-selling collections to date!
Our Laze collection, made from natural bamboo fibres to create a super soft ribbed fabric, has been a staple addition to all of our wfh wardrobes over the last year. Even when we were business on top, we were all rocking loungewear on the bottom, so sustainable loungewear pieces became must-haves. In March 2021, we expanded our loungewear styles with the introduction of Cosy, a move-on from our og Rec loungewear and a throw-back to TALA’s early days. Sustainably made with a fleecy-feel and statement branding, Cosy is the tracksuit set you always wanted but could never quite find. And even as the world starts to open up again, catch us styling up Laze and Cosy for days out!
Second skin SkinLuxe™
Activewear is at its best when it works for you in two ways - to keep you performing at your best whilst feeling your best every time you workout. After over 12 months of planning and development, we introduced SkinLuxe™, our first light-weight activewear collection designed with movement in mind. “SkinLuxe™ was definitely our biggest campaign to date. The theme was 'level up' which is exactly what SkinLuxe™ helps you do in your workouts. We had the models working out on set, bringing their A-game and stepping up to our virtual reality TALA world!” says Ally.
TALA in Pyjamas.
Our first ever Pyjamas collection brought a little piece of sustainable luxury to bedtime. Made from 100% recycled polyester, each Pyjama set added a fresh twist to the classic ‘night in’ with a silky-feel and a satin finish. “We love adding extra sustainable twists to our collections, and used the off-cuts of our Pyjamas to create stunning sustainable scrunchies, each in a reusable drawstring pouch. They sold out instantly, and best of all, it meant zero waste from our Pyjama fabric!”, Sarah, TALA’s Senior Brand and Partnerships Manager.

The team at TALA HQ has continued to grow from strength to strength over the last 2 years, introducing new experts and specialists to help us take the brand to new heights - and we’re only just getting started! We’ve also seen many new faces join #TEAMTALA and we love seeing how you style our pieces!
