What TALA Flared Leggings Are Built For
The silhouette is the obvious win. But here's what else is going on.
- High-waisted fit: All TALA flares sit above the natural waist. Cinched, tummy-smoothing, and no rolling down mid-class.
- Sweat-wicking fabric: DayFlex manages moisture during light to moderate movement so you stay dry and the drape stays clean.
- Four-way stretch: Every pair moves with you in all directions and returns to shape after every wash. No bagging, no distortion.
- Squat-proof construction: Yes, flares can be squat-proof. TALA flared leggings are tested for opacity through forward folds, deep stretches, and Pilates-style movements. Bend freely.
- Supportive waistband: The wide waistband sits flat against the body without digging. Supportive enough for studio sessions, comfortable enough for all-day wear.
Flared Leggings for Pilates & Yoga
TALA flared leggings were made for the studio. The high-waisted fit stays put through every hundred, every roll-up, and every balance pose. The flare silhouette gives your legs room to move without bunching at the knee, which matters more than people realise mid-flow. DayFlex is the go-to for reformer sessions and yoga classes: buttery-soft, sweat-wicking, and tested for opacity through every forward fold. SoftSet brings a naturally-soft, cotton-like feel for the days when your skin wants something kinder.
Best for: Pilates, yoga, barre, reformer classes, mat-based movement.
Collections: DayFlex, SoftSet.
Flared Leggings for Light Cardio & Studio Classes
Dance. A studio cardio class. Flares can handle all of it, and they do it looking good. DayFlex flared leggings are built for light to moderate movement: sweat-wicking, stretchy, and designed to keep the silhouette clean even when the intensity creeps up. The high-waisted fit stays put. The flare stays flattering. No adjusting, no rolling, no distractions.
Best for: spin, dance, studio cardio, low-impact HIIT, light circuits.
Collections: DayFlex.
Flared Leggings for Every Day, Travel & Beyond the Gym
This is where flares earn their wardrobe staple status. High-waisted with a leg-lengthening flare, they look as good off the mat as on it. DayFlex takes you from the studio to brunch without a second thought. SoftSet in particular has a breathable, cotton-soft feel that wears well across a full day on your feet or a long-haul flight. Workouts / workdays / airports / errands. One pair of leggings that does all of it.
The silhouette helps too. The flare from the knee creates length and proportion in a way straight-leg leggings just do not. That's why gym girlies who discover flares rarely go back.
Best for: everyday wear, travel, brunch, gym-to-workday, commuting, work-from-home.
Collections: DayFlex, SoftSet.

Getting the Right TALA Flared Leggings
The flare should break cleanly below the widest part of the calf. Too much length bunches the hem. Too little and the flare loses its effect. Height matters here more than with standard leggings.
- Petites (under 5ft 4): A full-length flare can bunch at the hem if the inseam is too long. Check individual product pages for inseam measurements. Pairing with a slightly elevated sole, a platform trainer or a chunky sole, helps the hem sit cleanly and the proportion work.
- Average height (5ft 4 to 5ft 7): Most TALA flares are cut for this range. Full-length styles will land exactly where they should for a clean, elongating line from hip to floor.
- Tall (5ft 8 and above): Full-length flares are your best option. The longer the leg, the more the flare silhouette works for you. Check inseam measurements on individual products to confirm coverage.
Flared Leggings by Body Type
The flare shape is one of the most universally flattering silhouettes in activewear. The fitted fit through the thigh and flared below the knee cut creates proportion and length that works across body shapes.
For curvier figures, TALA flares are designed with a high-rise waistband that cinches without digging and a hip-to-thigh fit that accommodates fuller proportions without excess fabric. The flare from the knee creates a balanced silhouette.
For straighter builds, the flare adds shape from the knee down and the high waist creates the illusion of a more defined waist-to-hip ratio.
