WEARETALA x WHOARETALA - GET TO KNOW SOME OF THE TEAM!

Since TALA first launched in May 2019, TALA has grown into a globally accessible brand representing sustainable style to make flattering fits for high performance activities affordable for everyone. However, there’s definitely been some help along the way to get this engine going! In this edit of TALA TALKS, we’re giving you a little more insight into some of the people and minds behind TALA. I’d suggest a cuppa with this one, you’re in for a treat or two.

Disclaimer: this is not the entire team and/or representative of the team as a whole

1. What does a typical day at work look like?

How long have you got?! Every day is different which is what I love about this job. One minute I'm brainstorming ideas for a new collection or designing our new website, the next I'm chatting to brands, retail partners and content creators about partnerships. I essentially handle the day-to-day management  of the brand, ensuring everything the team is doing is helping us grow bigger and better, so that we're ready to take on the big fast fashion players in the industry.

2.  How do you tend to start and end your day?

I start my day with a cup of tea - I don't drink coffee, so this is how I get my fix. I end my day with a boxing or weights class, and ideally a glass of wine.

3. What are your 3 essentials to carry in your bag?

My phone, a Huda Beauty matte lipstick and a pack of tissues (I'm allergic to everything)

4. If you could hop on a flight anywhere, where would you go and why?

Sydney. I spent a year living there and it was incredible. It will always have my heart.

5. Choose 3 emojis to best describe you.

🤗  🍝  🕵️‍♀️  - avid hugger, carb lover, creepy serial killer TV and book obsesser.

1. What’s your favourite TALA product and why?

As if I could just choose one! But for the purpose of this edit, it’s got to be the Nava leggings. I’ve genuinely never worn leggings so soft,  that also makes my legs look so lush! Thank you bamboo plant.

2. What are 3 essential things you carry in your bag?

My phone, a comb (gotta keep my wigs looking on point) and a tin of Vaseline (dry lips are just not my thing).

3. How have you found lockdown? What are your key takeaways?

Lockdown has been a really interesting one for me, a pivotal time in my life actually. I was tested in ways I never even thought possible but somehow, I managed to come out the other side. Truly understanding the value of self care, self love and self worth enabled me to change every loss into a lesson learned and I continuously strived from growth, even during a global pandemic. Creativity has always been an outlet for me and sometimes you’ve just gotta take that leap of faith - I certainly did, which landed me here at this job today!

4. How do you start and end your day?

I always start with a cup of tea, nothing hits the way that first sip does! I usually end my day with a gym session and Spotify listening party for one in my candle lit bedroom.

5. What are 3 words your friends would use to describe you?

Positive energy source. 🔌

1. How do you start and end your day?

I try to start my day with exercise and a very big breakfast and I’ll always end my day with either a book or Netflix series, followed by a sleep meditation guide.

2. If you could hop on a flight anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

EVERYWHERE!!! The first destination would be torn between Australia and Bali. I’m a water baby who loves the sun, so anywhere warm with a beautiful beach.

3. When you were little, what was your dream job?

I had a few because ya girl is indecisive:

- Veterinarian but I realised this was unrealistic because I am emotionally unstable when it comes to animals, so would only be useful when it came to cuddling them.

- A fashion designer. I was forever called ‘weird’ at school because I love to wear what makes me feel good which has certainly led to some very questionable outfit choices.

- A dancer because it's just sooooo fun!

 4. What’s your favourite TALA product and why?

It would be impossible to pick one, but one of my favourites is the zae tees, they are so comfy and subtly sculpting. But what we’ve got planned for next year is better than ever before!

1. What's your favourite TALA product and why?

Onda Zip Top in Black with Neon Branding (paired with the Neon Yellow Mina Bra!) - I recently started playing tennis and this is the perfect combo for that; it's super compressive and holds me in while the neon accents keep me stylish on the court.

2. What are 3 essentials you carry in your bag?

Mask, hand sanitizer, lip balm, hand cream, phone, keys, Rocketbook reusable notebook (sorry I know that's not 3).

3. If you could hop on a flight anywhere, where would you go and why?

Back to the US to visit my family. 😭

4. When you were little, what was your dream job?

I wanted to be a dancer...or an engineer!

 1. If you could hop on a flight anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

New York! So I could have an iced latte and a hummus, tomato and avo sandwich from DrSmood.

 2. How have you found lockdown? What are your key takeaways?

I can’t remember much from the start except a few hair disasters in the family (mum accidentally dying her hair orange was one).

I felt there was a lot of pressure on us to be creative, learn a new skill and to work out everyday but there is no ‘right way’ to feel or act during lockdown. I learnt not to be so hard on myself on days where I just don’t want to do anything except watch Vampire Diaries which I’ve shamefully watched twice now.

 3. Choose 3 emojis to best describe you.

4. When you were little, what was your dream job?

I think I watched X Factor far too much because I wanted to be a singer. I can’t sing. Although I did win a school talent show singing Hannah Montana ‘This is the Life’.

Whilst this is only a small portion of the entire team, TALA is in the midst of really exciting period of growth and we are only going to get bigger and stronger! Massive shoutout to Abigail for the fantastic illustrations of the team!

Stay tuned #TEAMTALA as many, many exciting things are en route!
